Chapter 22. The Healing Light

Isla's POV:

I dressed quickly into a simple embroidered gown and braided my hair applying some lip gloss. I was still feeling so weak after everything and the exhaustion was making my movements slower. I was still worried about how Alpha Caden screamed in his sleep. I couldn't believe that I went ahead and put his head on my lap. The way he calmed down immediately with my touch was so amusing for me.

‘ He is our mate for a reason. We cannot pretend that his scent doesn't affect us.' Riley said.

I wanted to think about everything and to plan the next steps. But I didn't want to get in trouble for being late in the kitchen because Sabrina had proved how cunning she could get if somebody was not her favorite.

I entered the kitchen, fearing that she would be waiting for me to turn up late and again hurt anyone to take revenge on me. Well, my gut feeling was not wrong and she was actually present there watching over the maids as they cooke
