I didn't feel like arguing with him, so I stayed silent. Jake looked at me with pain in his eyes.
"I'm an idiot. I know," he shrugged. "But you know what it's like to love someone and have that person betray you," he smiled sadly. "I guess with you, I've understood what Dean made you feel. It's not pleasant, Lena. I don't want to make you feel bad. I came to tell you that I'll take you to the hospital. I don't want you to go alone in a taxi. I need to know you'll get there safely. We're not together, but I still care about you."
Jake walked past me, took his keys, and headed for the door. I pondered his words and followed him after a few seconds. I got into the car, and we didn't speak throughout the entire journey. When Jake parked the car, I didn't get out. He looked at me, expecting me to exit, but I didn't. We just stared at each other. We both had a lot to say,
