During the journey to the mental health center, I shed many tears, but I remained calm in my seat. I lay on the stretcher and sang a song in my mind to distract myself while holding onto my belly. My children were the only source of strength I had left. I always said I felt alone, but the truth was I never was, as I had my children inside me. They gave me the strength to continue with my life and get out of bed.
Nothing in my life would be the same. Dean locked me up in a center to improve my mental health. I was deprived of my freedom. But I promised myself that I would fight to get out of there soon without needing Dean to take care of me. My goal was to go live at Jake's house.
But my plan crumbled when I saw the psychiatrist Carla hired. The woman walked towards me with a stupid smile on her face. The smile was filled with malice. I felt panic. I knew that place was not safe for me either.
