I woke from my sleep, the chirping of the birds announcing that it was early in the morning. I could feel the warmth of the sun’s rays, slowly filling my room. I looked around and blinked at the familiar room. After dinner last night, Papa insisted I stay the night, and I agreed without hesitation.

I had classes and Papa had work this morning, so I knew it was time to get up and prepare breakfast for myself and Papa. I got out of bed, slipped on my pink bunny slippers and headed to the kitchen.
