A tense silence befell us, and I used the spare minutes trying to run my gaze over my woman again. 

I didn't care if she was waiting for an explanation as to why I'd bought her a restaurant or how she felt about the whole thing. 

All that mattered was that she was right in front of me, just a few inches away, and it would only take one move to bring her close into my arms and hug her passionately and never let her go.

We were so close yet far apart, but that wouldn't stop me. It didn't make me any less interested in Renee. It didn’t stop me from wanting her, from loving her.

"What's the deal with your clothes?" I asked out of the blue, unable to contain myself anymore as I looked down at her attire.
