Chapter 38
"You can't get away with this," someone yelled at Leo from the dark doorway.
"Who's there?" he yelled back, but no one replied.
He realized that he was standing in the sitting room of his parent's mansion. But the light in the chandeliers was fluctuating. Even the recessed ceiling lights were dim.
Suddenly, he noticed that his palms were wet. He glanced at them and cringed at the sight of the blood on them. It looked like human blood.
"You'll pay for this, Leonardo," the voice yelled from the doorway again.
He walked towards it. He wanted to see who was talking. And glancing at the utter darkness in the doorway, he walked into it. He heard sand crunch against the clipping sound of someone's shoes.
"Who's there?" he shouted into the darkness, but no one responded.
Suddenly, the light in the doorway turned on, and the body of little Lionel lay at his feet–bloodied and stone
