Chapter 34. Accident

Anna could barely keep her eyes open while in Lucien's arms in the back of the car. She felt very tired and sleepy, but all she wanted to do at that moment was watch him. She was thinking to herself how much it had cost her to be close to him.

She blinked. He was looking back at her tenderly. But she couldn't get it out of her head. She had watched him killed Rhino and she also saw Drex die. The hole in his head was still in her memory. She gagged and sat up immediately in attempt to not choke on her vomit.

The driver immediately stopped the car and Anna jumped out, running over to the edge of the bridge and retching into the waters.

Lucien came out after her, holding her hair strands behind her ears and gently rubbing her back. Anna sighed and tried to catch her breath after she was done, but she still felt like she couldn't breath so pushed Lucien away to get some more air.
