Chapter 35. I Should Call Him
Anna woke up in her bed, blanket over her unlike how she had been sleeping the past few days. She turned in bed, wanting to return to sleep but she closed her eyes and saw the hole in Drex's forehead so she sat up with beads of sweats on her forehead.
Her mother rushed in and held her. "You're fine," Her mother whispered to her while cradling her like she was still her little girl.
"Lucien," Anna muttered, thinking of all that happened yesterday. She remembered pushing him away so many times when she wasn't herself yesterday. She left her mother and went to the balcony, hoping to see any of his cars there; hoping to find him watching her like he always did.
But she didn't. Her lashes wavered as she blinked some tears off the rim of her eyes. She was thinking to herself: maybe he was mad at her, or hurt. She sighed. She should have been more grateful; he found her after all. If he hadn't come, Drex would have had his way
