Chapter 42. Do You Still Love Kai?

Anna heard a phone vibrate while she was asleep in Lucien's arms. She knew it wasn't her phone so she opened her eyes. Lucien wasn't awake yet, or so she thought.

She reached for his phone and saw ‘DOC’ on the screen. The phone stopped ringing before she could inform Lucien about it. A text followed up after.

She leaned in and saw it was from Gennie. She was asking if he wanted her to come over, and that she was worried about his health.

Anna was still reading Gennie's text when the phone vibrated in her hands suddenly with another call from ‘DOC’. She turned to see if it woke Lucien up but she met his eyes wide open like he had been awake before now, probably watching her read his message.

He had his usual taunting smile on his lips but she felt embarrassed after he caught her reading Gennie's text to him. He gave the still ringing phone to him and pulled away from him to go to the bathroom.

Sorting over the toilet, she could h
