"What the hell are you doing?" Mario barked, adrenaline surfing through him."Are you really going to kill me over forty-five million?!"
Lucien’s face turned, and so did his mood. "How can I trust you to handle one of my companies if I can't trust you with such a small amount?"
Lucien's punch came after his question, hard and faster than Mario could process. Then another. And another. Lucien’s fury, sharp and silent, spilled into every blow. Years of distrust. Months of disappointment. It all came crashing down on Mario's face.
Mario staggered, blood trickling from the corner of his lip. "Stop," he gasped.
But Lucien didn’t. His rage wasn’t about the money, it never was. It was personal. He had always wanted to inflict as much pain as he could on Mario for shooting him that day, and causing him to get stabbed by the many branches he hit before he fell to the ground.
