Chapter 17. Third Wheeling
Mira’s POV
“What’s with these hot boys, Mira. I thought you were like me. But you seem to be like so ‘happening’.”
Stella’s nose zoomed in, in front of my eyes.
I was lying on the grass, at the campus. The lawn was at the back, so I was just trying to get some fresh air, privately.
The day was lost, trying to explain the incident at the police station. Our principal, Braze’s mom, got involved and things took a little time to settle down. I got dragged into the spotlight, along with him, for no reason.
I was trying to peacefully watch the white butterfly hover all around me.
These things never seemed odd, like the thunder whenever I was sad or the butterfly, whenever I was anxious. It was what I was used to, ever since I was a baby. What I wasn’t used to, was Stella.
She shoved me so hard that my poor butterfly flew away.
“Come on. Tell me Mira. What’s your secret?”
“Leave that girl alone.”
