There was a lot that could be discerned about someone by the way they walked the stairs. Aurora had learned a long time ago that Tasia would stomp if a mission had been particularly difficult or frustrating. The werewolf rarely came down with anything other than a silent glide otherwise.
Ingrid, on the other hand, never made any noise going up the stairs. However, if she was pissed, it was like she concentrated her full body weight on each step in an attempt to punish the house for her bad day. Aurora actually winced with each bang as she silently counted them, then moved to intercept the mage at the foot of the stairs.
“How did it go?” she asked with a smile. Sullen, Ingrid made brief eye contact and stormed past. A few moments later, Lily came sliding down the railing on her ass, then hopped over the side at the last moment.
