Chapter 58. Snowfall and Sorrow

Din is only interested in seeing Jessie once more and doesn't want to hear anything else. He seemed to find no use in anything the police chief was saying. Until he found his wife, he would continue to do as he pleased.

"I'll return to the beach. I'll let you take care of the rest. " He gently touched the chief's shoulder before making his way out of the woods.

Near the shore, Rocky threw Jessie to the ground. Slowly opening her eyes, she moaned with exhaustion. She struggled to lift her body up or move because of how much pain was engulfing her body. She extended a hand toward her head. She groaned once more, blinking as her eyes scanned the area where she was.

She felt a drop of liquid dripping down her face and touched it. Her hand was covered in blood when she brought it to her face. She had been perplexed as to how she had become hurt, but then she recalled what had happened in the woods and how she had been struck by a person she couldn't see.
