Chapter 34

Emma still felt devastated.

She was lying on the couch in the living room while the whole house was dark. She cried for hours and felt like the worst human being in the world for letting her parents down without even thinking about how at that moment they were possibly devastated too.

She was their only child, she was supposed to get on with life the way they always wanted, but by following her heart, Emma had hurt them.

But even sad, she believed she had made the best decision of her life.

She heard the sound of Sebastian's car pulling up, and only then did she realize that it might be late at night.

She tried to wipe away the tears, but she couldn't stop crying.

"Emma?" Sebastian found the completely dark house strange and instantly felt the fear that Emma had been kidnapped or even murdered, so he called the girl's name again before turning on the lights, but he heard the sniff and then saw her still huddled on the couch, which It equally worried him.
