Chapter 39

James rose slowly, stubbing out his cigar on his coffee table. Sebastian swallowed hard, watching the man approach him.

"What did you say?" James asked, eyeing him at the same height.

"I respect you. And it's not Emma's fault for being a person with an ordinary life. I myself asked her not to want to be with me, but you see, she stayed. So I accepted her. She will be my family."

"Your family… When I met you as a child, you seemed to be smarter than you are now. Where is your greed? Are you really going to let that simple girl ruin you? Interrupt your future?"

"Because you think Emma will get in my way. I've had her for a few months, and what have I done? I've completed the quest normally. Emma doesn't get in my way at all."

"Not now, but you'll see. He'll start to move away and end up getting shot right in the middle of the forehead."
