Chapter 62
Foster was in the guest room, but it had plenty of space and a good bed.
There was a knock on the door and she smiled when she saw her mother stop in the doorway.
"He is well?" Mrs. Foster asked.
Emma nodded, smiling as she put some clothes away in the closet there.
The woman entered the room, holding her hands in front of her. Emma watched her and smiled, but when her mother sat on the edge of the bed, she turned, looking at her too.
"Do you want to ask me something?" Emma asked.
The mother sighed, smiling at her again.
"I'm just in awe. You've grown bigger, you're prettier, and… you really do look like a woman now."
Emma ducked her head, smiling too.
"I had to grow up with my choices, Mom."
"And are you really all right?" the woman asked genuinely worried about her daughter.
