Chapter 22
Harper's POV
Nathan hasn’t moved. Still sitting on the couch, legs parted, arms draped along the back like a king awaiting his subject. But there’s nothing arrogant in his expression. His smile is warm, patient, almost amused as he watches me walk to him.
I drop to my knees between his legs.
I look up at him, and his expression softens even more. For a second, I wonder if he’s going to take the lead. He doesn’t. Instead, he just watches. Waiting.
Reaching up, I place both hands on either side of his neck, feeling the warmth of his skin, the beat of his pulse under my fingers. I tug gently, pulling him toward me, and he lets me.
