Chapter 64
Harper’s POV
I look at myself in the mirror, exhaling slowly as I smooth down the fabric of the dress. Alright, this is as ready as I am going to be. I grab the small bag sitting on the edge of the vanity, tuck my phone into it, and hook the strap over my shoulder. The weight feels heavier than usual, like the dread sitting in my chest has found a way to settle there too.
A soft knock pulls me from my thoughts. I open the door to find the same woman from earlier, the one who brought me to the room. She smiles like all of this is completely normal and gestures for me to follow.
“Food is being served. This way,” she says, her tone warm but professional.
I follow her silently through the long hallway, my heels clicking softly on the wooden floor. Every step brings more tension, more questions. What am I supposed to do
