The last thing I expected was to see Valerie outside with another man. Seeing them together did things to me I couldn’t even put into words.

My chest tightened and anger surged through me. For a moment, it felt like I had even forgotten how to breathe. I clenched my fists, forcing myself to stay rooted in one spot instead of storming over to give him a punch like a jealous fool.
