Valerie Will POV

“Can I speak to you for a moment?” Jordan asked when I was having lunch at the dining table.

He came in with Patrick and we had already spoken earlier. So I was curious about what he had to say again.

I nodded, my mouth full of food. I gestured for him to take a seat because from the look on his face, I could tell that he had something serious to say.

He waited for me to finish chewing before he cleared his throat and began. “I’ve known you for a long time, Valerie.” He said, his eyes fixed on me. “You’re a great woman.”

I raised a skeptical brow at him. “I can say the same about you too. You’re a great man.” I said, my voice cautious.

I stared at him in anticipation, wondering where our conversation was leading.

Jordan exhaled sharply. “When Patrick first told me about you, I knew that both of you were meant for each other.” He continued, his voice quiet.
