“What is wrong with you, Patrick?” I asked, my eyes burning with rage. “You ruined our daughter’s party and embarrassed me in front of our guests.”

He snorted. “I told you to ask him to leave but you decided to kiss him instead. What were you trying to prove, huh?” He replied, his breathing heavy.

I scoffed. “Can’t I kiss my boyfriend? What is wrong with you?”

“Oh, please.” He lifted a hand to the air. “You’re the one who ruined the party by bringing an intruder into our home.”

“Your home, you mean.” I corrected him, unable to mask the irritation in my voice. “You can’t go around punching people all the time.”

“All the time?” He asked with a scoff. “Anyway, I wouldn’t have punched him if you had asked him to leave.”
