After spending the entire night crying, I booked an impromptu flight to Japan. There was nothing left for me in America.

Jamal was done with me.

I couldn’t let Patrick take Liam away from me.

I knew it was against court orders, but I wanted to leave as fast as possible. I didn’t want to think about how my life would be in a strange country or how I was abandoning everyone again, I just wanted to leave.

It was what I should have done the first time.

I should have stayed as far away as I could from everyone from my past. I shouldn’t have even let Jamal into the picture.

It would have been best if I started afresh with new people.

People from my past were toxic.

I needed to be someone that no one would be able to find me.

“What do you think about going on a trip?” I asked Liam as he finally opened his eyes. Our flight was scheduled for early in the morning, but I didn’t want to disturb his sleep.
