Steven’s POV

Just as I was about to shut the door, assuming that Stefani would no longer follow me, I was taken aback when she timidly poked her head into my room and asked, “Excuse me, can I come in?”

I gazed at her for some time, pondering why this young girl held such a special place in my heart. Each time I laid eyes on her, it brought to mind the two angels I had lost. Despite knowing that she was the offspring of Summer and another man, I could not muster any anger. Instead, a deep yearning filled me, and all I desired was to hold her close in my embrace.
