Celine’s POV

My heart ached for her when I saw Steven's infidelity. I wanted to wrap my arms around her and whisper that she had nothing to worry about, but the words would surely catch in my throat. After all, who could honestly relish the sight of a husband with someone else? I shuddered at the thought of Harvey in such a situation - no doubt it would push me over the edge.

After so much contemplation, I picked up the phone on my side table and dialed Steven's contact number.

The sight of Summer's distressed face was too much for me to bear. So, even though the sun had yet to break through the darkness of morning, I already called her husband.

After just three rings, he answered the phone.

“Mister Carter, I would like to talk with you. Are you available?”

I could discern him audibly inhaling deeply multiple times while I anxiously bit down on my lower lip, awaiting his reply.

“Of course,” he responded coldly.
