Summer’s POV

Stepping out the door, I felt like a lost ship adrift in a vast ocean, unsure of where my port of call should be. As I processed the information, my mind felt like a tornado of thoughts, whirling around and around. It was as if a spotlight was shining down on me, exposing twenty percent of my life to the world.

What should be my first thought? What emotions should I ultimately feel? These questions swirled around in my mind, leaving me feeling lost and confused.

Despite my marriage to Steven, Senior Carter didn’t harbor any animosity towards me. In fact, his dislike was not directed towards me personally, but rather towards the hate that had taken root in his heart. I realized that my presence served as a painful reminder of a past that they were unable to forget. It hurt them to see me walking around, seemingly oblivious to their pain.
