“Mr. Scott, are you paying any attention to what I’m saying?”

He wasn’t. He was lost deep in his thoughts. His dad had done a remarkable job of disorienting him. Why did that even surprise him? The man was creative beyond limits, and it appeared his creativity wasn’t limited to just clothes and fashion; he thrived even in making his son miserable in the most astounding ways.

Dominic sighed for the umpteenth time, suppressing a shudder as he remembered his encounter with his father the night before. He should have known! Nothing that ever went down in that blasted library was good.

He sighed... again. What could he do? What was the solution to this dilemma? Oh God. He ran both hands down his face and let out a groan.

“Dom? Do I need to send for help?” His secretary’s concerned voice pierced his thoughts, and his eyes flew to her face. She was staring at him with concern written all over her face, causing her brows to wrinkle.
