Chapter 6
Liam was staring at him like he had sprouted horns or something, and the weight of his stare made Dom look down at himself to see if there was suddenly something wrong with his appearance when the other man burst out laughing.
“You look okay, man. That isn’t your problem right now. Why the hell did you tell that kind of lie?”
And really, Dom had no idea why he had told that lie. It just kind of popped into his head and out through his mouth before he could think about it. Say it was total opposition to the idea of being married to Brenda Thompson. He just couldn’t bear to entertain the thought.
“I swear, I don’t know, man. It was out of my mouth before I knew it. Dad bought the idea that I had been secretly dating, so I just kept going.” His large shoulders lifted in a shrug. He was on edge, and Liam’s amusement with the whole thing was irritating him. He didn’t even realize he was glaring at the man.
“Just how far did you go?”
“I kind of... gave a roug
