Chapter 135
Lizzy's POV
Elliot walked around the store with me, holding a snoring Evan as we looked at everything. The jeweler was friendly, even though he didn’t know that I was suddenly loaded again, which made me feel better about the whole thing.
Though I could afford it, I didn’t have expensive taste and didn’t want something flashy enough that I’d need to take it off while I was running dance classes. I found a ring I loved in the right size, already ready to be purchased, with an emerald-shaped diamond surrounded by a simple halo. It wasn’t too flashy, or too modern, or too big.
I bought Elliot a ring too—he picked out a black one that sort of resembled wood—and we walked out grinning together.
When we made it back to our house, Elliot put Evan in his crib, and then we collapsed into our bed. Elliot’s arm was around me, his fingers playing with the ring on my left hand as I relaxed against his chest.
