Chapter 67

Elisa’s POV

My dear mother came out of the cellar after slapping me one last time. She didn’t like me calling her a monster when that’s exactly what she is. I go to Natasha who is really not well. I sit on the floor and tell her to put her head on my lap, which she does. I’m really worried for her and I’m afraid she’ll lose her baby with everything that’s going on. Steven, my stupid brother, says he loves her, but he doesn’t even know how to take care of her. Mash potatoes! Why did I have to be part of this crazy family?

I raise my head when I hear the door open. Melina enters the cellar and she seems preoccupied. A man comes up behind her and I recognize him right away. He was the one I had hired to do research on Sophia Collins, and he had given me false information.
