"Nathania-"
"I'd like to leave this place," I said, nodding and avoiding eye contact with him.
It seemed to be staring at me. He sighed after a little interval of silence.
"What did you hear?" he inquired, and I returned my gaze to him.
"Everything," I replied, trying to appear brave in front of it.
He inhaled deeply and wiped his brow with his hand. He nodded and fixed his gaze on me.
"Nathania, let me explain."
"I've had enough of your explanations and lies, Clyde," I said as I turned away. When he grabbed my arm and turned me to face him, I was about to walk away.
"Clyde, please let me go!" -"
"No, Nathania! You have to listen to me. We have to talk."
"I really don't want to talk to you! What else are you going to say? Are you going to lie again? What are you going to tell me? Will you say you love me again?" He let go of my arm.
