Chapter 12. Loyal
I woke up in a room far grander than I remembered; my place was in the Omega House.
A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, contrasting yet complementing the dark colors in the room.
I surveyed the area slowly, seeking someone the moment I opened my eyes.
But when I saw no one was around, I slumped my head back to the bed.
He’s not here.
I sighed and stared up at the carved ceiling; flashes of what had happened last night came into mind.
The way he touched and comforted me suggested things that were the opposite of his threat against me. Even the dread of having to experience the same nightmare again was nowhere near my mind because it was filled with all of him.
