Chapter 32. Warrior
“Sabrina!”
My eyes widened at the woman I saw outside the truck.
“Nancy!” I exclaimed and jumped out of the vehicle.
“Rina!” Nancy’s arms wrapped around me the moment we neared each other.
I put my arms around her, feeling so happy and excited and other mixture of emotions that were making me choke up.
“You’re back,” I heard her mumble beside my ear as she caressed my back and hugged me tighter.
“Yes, I’m back,” I said and inhaled her very familiar scent.
Nancy, despite our only 4 year age gap, has always been like a mother figure to me. My mother died when I was just 7, so I barely remember anything from her except for her face and the way she sings and kisses my father. So, growing up, Nancy and their grandmother Naia, were the women who basically mothered me.
And I am so glad I finally saw them again.
“I m-missed you so much.”
“Nancy…” I cooed when I heard her voice crack. “I missed you, too.”
