“What do you mean by dragging her to court? Did she do anything wrong maybe? What’s he taking her to court for?”
“He said that he would be contesting custody for us both, Jessa. I don’t know what we did to make him think of something like that just to spite Mom.”
“He can’t contest for custody because there’s a restraining order, right? Why are you stressing yourself over it then?”
“Because he said he would be pleading that it be reviewed too. You have no idea what he can do, and if the judge decides to annul the restraining order, then he could get even worse than the way he was before.”
“Don’t you miss him?”
Natasha turned to look at her sister, who had spoken out of frustration.
“Of course I do, princess. I just don’t think it’s a good idea to have a restraining order against a repeated offender annulled. He’s dangerous, Mae. And I really don’t want you to go through what I did the last time we were in his clutches.”
