Chapter 62. On the Edge

Victoria’s POV

I swallowed hard, unable to tear my eyes away from his. The way he looked at me—it was as if he could see straight through to my very soul.

“Victoria,” he said softly, my name rolling off his tongue with a tenderness that made my knees weak.

What was happening?!

“Dominic…” I whispered, unsure of what I wanted to say, unsure of what he wanted from me.

He stepped closer, his hand reaching up to cup my cheek. The warmth of his touch sent a shiver down my spine, and I found myself leaning into him despite the warning bells ringing in my head.

“You’re incredible, do you know that?” he said, his thumb brushing lightly over my skin.

I blinked, thrown off by the unexpected compliment. “I don’t......”

I didn’t know what to say, I didn’t even know how to start.

The tension between us was electric, crackling in the air like a live wire. I couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think, as his face drew closer to mine. His dark eyes
