Pacing the length of the living room, I raked a hand through my hair for the umpteenth time. I had gone out to look for Victoria, and then I realized I wasn’t thinking straight; there was no way I’d find her, this, I came back home to ask Lily where they had taken Victoria.

My mind was racing, the gravity of what had just transpired pressing down on my chest like a lead weight. Victoria was out there somewhere, taken by some thugs Lily had hired, and I had no clue where to even begin searching.
