Chapter 50

Maurice looked at Hadley's stiff face and he wondered what was going on with her. She looked like she had been trapped and did not know what was going on with her.

"Ella, are you listening to me?" Maurice asked, and his voice jolted Hadley out of her thoughts. She looked at Maurice with a resolute face after making up her mind.

She was not going to listen. No matter what Maurice was going to say she was not going to listen.

"Please, don't tell me!" Hadley yelled jumping up from the bed and her abrupt actions scared Maurice. He was surprised to see her react that way, he thought she was going to be more happy that he was evening up to her but why was she acting odd?

Is something wrong with her? Has he done something wrong? Different thoughts through Maurice's mind but he was even more confused about what was going on in Hadley's mind.
