Chapter 49

Hadley tries her best to talk her family out of making her steal from Maurice but to no avail. They do not yield to her request and it was like whatever she was saying was not a big concern. They do not care about her in the first place, she is just a substitute they can get their hands on. 

Hadly dragged her feet solemnly on the floor into the house and she prayed fervently that Maurice had not done home to see the state she was in but her prayer but her prayer was not answered because Maurice was the first person she set her eyes on when she entered the house.
