Hadley's heartbeat increased as she feared who was coming into the room, but she released her breath when she saw the person, who just came in.

“Are you okay, ma'am?” The maid, who just entered the room asked, and Hadley let out the breath she was holding.

“Yes, I am.” She replied hurriedly, and hid the file she was holding. The maid was suspicious about Hadley's movement, but she couldn't pressure her if she wasn't ready to talk.

She wouldn't want to lose her job. “Ok ma'am, then I will leave you to it.” The maid said, as age walked off and Hadley let out the breath she was holding. “Oh my goodness! That was such a narrow escape.” She mumbled.

She looked at the file in her hand, and she knew she had to get out of the house before Maurice woke up. She wouldn't want to get caught by the man.

“I have to get this to the heartless man before he does something to my sister.” She muttered, and walked out of that room. She got to the backdoor of the house
