Chapter 142
Megan's POV
I got out of bed feeling like my whole body, was compressed under a kneading press, that I did not notice when I fell to the floor, then I watched the wardens reach out to me.
As I am dragged out of my cell, I try to clear my foggy mind and process what's happening.
The guard's grip on my arm is tight, and I stumble along beside her, my legs feeling like rubber.
We navigate through the dimly lit corridors, the fluorescent lights overhead making my head throb even more.
Finally, we arrive at the infirmary, a small, cramped room with a single bed and a metal cabinet in the corner. The guard releases my arm, and I collapse onto the bed, exhausted.
A stern-looking nurse approaches me, her eyes scrutinizing my face. "What's going on with you, Megan?" she asks gruffly.
I try to explain my symptoms, but my words come out jumbled and incoherent.
