Jane's POV

"What!" I exclaim silently as they asked to see Megan one on one.

Their eyes filled with a sincere pleadingness, their voice laced with urgency.

"Jane, we understand that you are wary, but we assure you, our intentions are pure." They plead.

"We need to see Megan, to assess her condition and determine the best course of action." They continue.

"But only those closest to her are allowed to see her, and we respect that. But please, we beg of you, let us see her. Every moment counts." They went on.

I hesitated, my mind racing with doubts and fears.

 But something about their words resonated deep within me. I wanted to believe that they could help Megan, that they could make her better.

With a heavy heart, I nodded my consent.

"Okay," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

"I will find a way to help!" I say.

"But you have to promise me one thing: you will do everything in your power to help
