I tried and I slowly open my eyes, with lethargy giving way to clarity.

The visitors worried faces come into focus, and I try to speak, my voice barely a whisper.

"W... where...where am I?" I asked them.

"You are in safe hands!" They tell me.

One of them helps me sit up, their hand supporting my back.

"You are in a hospital, Megan. But we need to get you out of here. Now." They say.
