Megan's POV
I sit in my cell, my heart sinking as I am summoned to see the detective.
"Exactly, what I have been searching for!" I said as I dashed off quickly.
Detective James sitting quietly in his desk, looks up and delivers the news.
"What do you mean no one wants to listen to you?" I ask, my voice laced with concern.
He sighs, rubbing his temples.
"I mean, the... the judge, they are all resistant to reopening the case. They think we have got enough evidence to convict you, and they don't want to hear otherwise." Detective James revealed.
I feel a surge of frustration and despair.
"But that's not fair! I know I'm innocent, and you believe me too. Why won't they listen?" I say.
Detective James shakes his head.
"It's not about fairness, Megan. It's about politics and power. They don't want to admit they made a mistake, and they're willing to do whatever it takes to keep the case closed." He explains
