Chapter 38. How Silly

Ellie’s POV

Arriving home, Aria and I were tired, but I noticed a strange package on our doorstep.

I wasn’t sure what was happening so I decided to wait for Aria.

“What’s going on, Ellie?” Aria, on the other hand, noticed my hesitation and popped the question as she approached.

“Well it’s a package,” I replied

“Did you order anything?” I asked Aria.

“None that I can remember,” she replied.

None of us wanted to pick it up as it could be a trap. Especially not after that threatening reply James gave to us. It would be better to be safe than sorry.

“What do you think is inside,” Aria asked.

“I have no idea,” I replied looking confused, I went away to the porch.

“What are you doing,” Aria asked.

“Trying to find a twig,” I replied. As soon as I got one, I returned.

“A twig? What is that for?” She asked.

“You’ll see,” I replied and used the twig to move the package. I poked it severally and nothing happen
