Chapter 3

Amaya paid for her coffee and walked away from the coffee stand. When she got to where her luggage was, she removed it from the seat and sat on the chair.

"If I didn't see it, I wouldn't have believed it." She said to the woman on the phone as she exhaled deeply.

"What did he do this time? Amaya's aunt Vedika asked.

Vedika was Amaya's late mother closest friend. Even though she wasn't related to Amaya; Amaya considered her as family. Vedika and her father was the only family that Amaya had.

When Amaya mother died five years ago, Vedika became like a mother figure. So Vedika was her mother, aunt and sister as well. She was ten years older than her and was very mature. She had never been married, and was not in a relationship. She had a seven years old son, and told Amaya that the child father was late. She had gotten pregnant before he passed on.

Amaya had never faced any hardship in her life. She was well attended to by her father, and never felt the absence of her mother since Vedika was always with her and helped her through her grieving phase. Since Amaya's mother died, Vedika had made sure that Amaya would never experienced pain again, and would never sheared  tears ever again. So when Vedika heard her cry, her insides turned, because that much was her love for Amaya, whom she considered her daughter.

"The question is what didn't he do aunt." Amaya replied as she wailed seriously.

This time her aunt paused on the phone, she kept wondering what Amaya was trying to tell her. She couldn't figure it out, what possible would her fiancé had done to her. She received Amaya's message concerning the cancellation of her wedding. She tried to reach her but her phone was switched off.

She knew something terrible must have happened and had been worried all this while she was not able to speak with Amaya.

"You have to tell me sweetheart, get a hold of yourself. Why exactly did you cancel your wedding." Vedika asked

Amaya thought of the best way she would respond to her aunt, she knew how much her aunt dotted on Ben. It would break her heart to know what Ben had done. But she then realised that her aunt had told her not to get married after just a year and half of their relationship.

"Hello! hello! Amaya are you there? Hello!? Vedika kept saying as she eagerly waited for a response.

" He cheated." Amaya said as she busted in tears.

Her aunt was left dumbfounded, she was shocked-she had never believed Ben would do such a thing. Though Ben and Amaya have had several fight during their relationship but it was never about cheating.

"Are you sure? Did u confirm it? Did he tell you himself?" Vedika kept asking Amaya.

"Aunt this is not some hearsay. I saw it; I witnessed that bastard cheating on me." Amaya replied her screaming on top of her voice.

"I was there; I was there...." Amaya said. Her voice suddenly became low, she was devasted. Recalling the event had left her wrenched.

She removed the phone from her ears, and bent her head down in between her knees. When she got a hold of herself, she clean her eyes with her shirt, and then she raised her head up again and placed the phone on her ears.

"I'm really sorry dear. Where are you?" Vedika asked her. She didn't know how best she could condole Amaya.

After hearing Amaya's voice, she just wanted to hug her, she found herself crying as she could not believed it. Her heart broke at the sound of Amaya's voice, but what would she do, she was faraway in New York.

"I need you back home. I need you here with me. Book the next ticket and come back home." Vedika said as she suddenly became agitated.

"I'm at the airport already. I will be home in fifteen hours." Amaya replied her aunt. She took her face towel and wiped her tears.

"Send me the flight details, I will pick you up at the airport." Vedika said to her.

"Okay aunt." Amaya responded with tears prickling her eyes.

"Have you called your dad. He had been worried sick. He called you, you never answered sweety." Vedika asked.

"My phone was switched off, I will call him when I drop off call with you." Amaya replied, then she took a deep breath, sighed and continued-"I just forwarded the flight details to you, have you seen it?"

"Yeah, just got it. I will be at the airport before your flight land. Be safe okay." Vedika said as she ended the call.

Amaya thought to call her father, but was exhausted, she didn't want to have that conversation over again. She then thought she would send a text instead.

"Hey dad, I missed your call. I'm good, you don't have to worry. Sorry I left the house without telling you. I'm at the airport, I'm going back to New York. I wasn't meant to be here. Anyways take care. Bye!"

After sending the message to her dad, she turned on flight mode on her phone. She then raised her head up to gasp for breath, her eyes drifted to her right and she saw the man she had encountered.

His suit was looking much better, he seemed to be coming out of the washroom area. He had removed his jacket, and his white long sleeved shirt hugged his body that it revealed his body built. He looked like he had never skipped going to the gym even for a day in his entire life.

Amaya watched him from behind as he kept walking towards the boarding area. She had never had a thing for white men. She looked away and checked the time on her phone, three hours had passed and she had thirty minutes more before boarding.

She then opened Ben's message on her phone, and deleted it. She opened his contact and long pressed it. An option popped up seeking her approval to delete or cancel.

She sighed, and recalled the horrendous sight. She then pressed cancel and turned off the flight mode. She went to his messages and typed

"IT'S OVER."

She didn't wait for his response, she opened her social media and blocked him on all app. Then  she went straight to his contact details and pressed DELETE.

She was feeling a bit relieved, she drank the coffee she had bought, she checked the time on her phone and saw that she had ten minutes left. She gripped her luggage and went to the boarding area since it was almost time for her to board.
