Chapter 4
The long flight from Nigeria to London and then India left Raizadan exhausted. His weariness doubled as he thought about what he would had to do in return for the contract he had signed with Laxerm.
A headache began brewing due to stress and fatigue from being on a plane for too long.
Typically when Rai came back to India, he would stay in a hotel room to unwind before going home to his family. However, Tonight was different-his stress was at it's maximum level. He needed to do something or he would not be able to get a wink.
He called his assistant to inform her to fix a meeting with the president of Laxerm, then he told her he was back in India.
He decided he would drop by Rekha's house. Rekha was his girlfriend before he travelled to London. After the short response he sent her at the airport, he felt he had to see her so she wouldn't be upset.
Rai travelled to London so he could supervised his family new business. While he was there he thought he would add an MBA as part of his achievement.
Though a neurosurgeon, Rai was a polyhistor.
When Raizadan arrived at Rekha's house, he ignored the servants and searched around himself. But when he couldn't find anyone, he decided to question one of the servants.
"Where is Aunt and Uncle? What about Rekha?" He asked a female servant.
"Aunt and Uncle had gone out. But Miss Rekha is in her room sir." Said the female servant.
Raizadan was not pleased that Rekha's parents was not home. But for some reason he was happy and proud-like a newly married man who was going to spend the first night with his newly wedded bride.
He hastily walked up the stairs-straight to his girlfriend room. The fatigue he felt before was nothing compared to the excitement he was feeling.
He had spent three years away from Rekha. Back then, Rekha couldn't understood why he relocated to London, all the explanations he gave her was meaningless to her. So she decided that until he came back she wasn't going to visit him.
At the door of Rekha's room-he hesitated. He was not quite sure if she felt the same way that she felt for him three years ago.
But even though she was angry with him-they never broke up, they kept in-touched.
He kept staring at the door for quite some time. Uncertain about Rekha's love for him. His uncertainty were evident on his face. He was shivering and beads of sweats started forming on his forehead. But he was certain of his love for her, nothing could ever change that.
Suddenly Raizadan was taken aback to the girl he encountered at the airport. He couldn't explain the way he felt towards her.
"What's wrong with me." He muttered.
Letting out a deep sigh, Raizadan held the door handle and opened the door.
He took two short steps in and stood by the door.
He saw Rekha. She was staring blindly at her computer screen and then she squeezed her eyes shut, drew in a long breath and tried to release tension as she exhaled. Raizadan stood at where he was wondering was what up with her.
Finally she opened her eyes and it drifted toward the door. She was shocked to see Raizadan. The tension she felt instantly vanished. She wasn't aware he had arrived India.
"Rai..." Said Rekha.
Rekha was surprised at the same time confused when she saw Rai. For some reason she felt a sense of guilt glutched down her throat. Her heart-beat beating so fast and she was shivering.
"Are you okay?" Rai asked as he saw Rekha. He sensed something was wrong with her. But to his surprise-Rekha jerked from the bed, ran toward him and jumped on him. He caught her and she crossed her legs around his waist and crossed her hands around his neck then she hugged him.
Rai walked toward the bed carrying Rekha on his arms and then he sat on the bed with Rekha sitting on his thighs. She immediately leaned into his chest and caressed him.
Everything about Rekha redefined perfection. She was not wearing a sexy outfit or a short dress. She was wearing the exact opposite-an oversized sweat shirt and pant.
Rai never knew an oversized clothing could make a woman this sexy. He raised his eyebrows as he looked at her. She was beautiful; She had this elegant appearance.
When Rai realized that her actions toward him was the same as it has always been, he awkwardly laughed at himself.
"How could I have thought she might no longer be interested in me." He muttered to himself.
He did not say a word to her. He was solely focused on her brown bright eyes. The stress in his eyes had washed away and was suddenly replaced with an oddly, calm blankness.
She looked down and when she saw his fingers fiddling with the tip of her hair, Rekha simply froze, her heartbeat beating so erratically as if a hammer was inside her chest.
For some reason Rai couldn't help but compared the way he was feeling to how he felt for the girl at the airport.
"Not again." He murmured to himself as he dropped his hand and then the look in his eyes changed again. He didn't look calm anymore as he did moments ago.
