Lily’s POV

Grayson and Emma had a small bit of background in common, but I didn’t want to let Emma know about it.

I’ve not been fortunate with men, or boys. I really wanted Gray and I to last, till, well, forever.

Gray and Emma grew up in the same town.

Then his dad remarried when he was about six years old and moved him from Starry town to County City.

Emma too grew up in Stary town.

Gray went back to see his mom and step siblings a few days after our shopping spree and two days before the Senior Trip.

He came back a different person, but not to me, thankfully.

He began to withdraw from Chase and Emma which I found weird.

He and Chase were like two peas in a pod.

I wouldn’t have been with him because of how close he was to Chase, but I also knew Chase would never say anything about it, so I took my chances with being with Chase’s brother from another mother.
