Ezra catches my hands before they can push him.
“Don’t try it, birdie,” he warns.
I yank my hand from him, chest heaving.
Whirling around, I glare at my brother. “Why? Why are both of you so goddamn insensitive!”
“That’s not true, Chirp!”
“Hell, we‘re very sensitive, Wren,” Ezra cuts in. “We’re so sensitive we want to resurrect your stupid ex, and kill him again for touching you.”
Raymond gives a firm nod, agreeing. “He hit you, and he’s lucky he didn’t die by my hands.”
I scoff, shaking my head at the two men who are acting like big babies.
“I loved him,” I croak, nose stinging. “I still do. We loved each other. He was everything to me.”
Raymond sighs. “Chirp, I love you and I love my girlfriend…but I’ve never and will never raise a hand on any of you.”
“I might not know what love is, but I damn well know what it isn’t.” Ezra rolls his eyes.
