Chapter 144. Fire

As we approach the locked door, I hear Chantel take a deep breath. She's hurting, and I know this won't be easy, but I believe we can handle it once she kicks the door open.
Men and women rush towards us immediately. The people outside kept us occupied while they devised a plan. Chantel heads right, and I go left. Guns are drawn, and knives and swords are unsheathed. I still have my sword strapped around my back, and Chantel likely has her knife. Twenty shots, one sword - seems like a simple win, right?
"I'm out," she screams, and I echo the same after two more shots. We managed to injure twenty people, but they're tough.
I spot fresh guards approaching from afar. Without much thought, Chantel and I run, easily outpacing them due to our speed and fitness. People are running towards us, after us, all around us – a chaotic pursuit.
