Chapter 226. Brother Tough Warrior

I reach up, intending to grab his neck, but I stop myself. I quickly step away from him, and he looks, to say the least, unhappy.
"Just one dance, and then we can go," I suggest. As he walks back to his chair, the King rolls his eyes.
Tss! Whatever!
"Zaaave," I sing, as I saw my brother.
"Chantel," he answers, sounding nothing but scared.
"Want to dance?"
"Is dancing a euphemism for torture?"
"No. Hello, dear brother. I do not use euphemisms," I reply.
He smiles and extends his hand to touch mine. I give it to him, and I see how his face lights up. The orchestra starts a new song after he gives them some kind of sign. It's a gentle melody.
"Is that—"
"Your sleep song? Yes."
This song, called the raven's song, was always sung to me by Zave when we were kids. It was sweet but not right. I'll never change b
