He comes up to meet my gaze again, helping me sit up straight. He tugs me to his chest and tells me it's all right.
"I'm sorry, Lexcis," I murmur, my voice laden with uncertainty. "It's not that I don't want to. I just—I don't know what happened."
"Please, don't apologize. It's okay. I'm not mad, I won't ever be mad at you for this," he reassures, his touch comforting.
His words calm me. "But I wanted it. Truly."
"I know. I know, baby," he murmurs tenderly. "But you can change your mind whenever. Yes doesn't mean it has to stay yes. It's okay."
I nod slowly, processing his words. "I know, but I feel bad."
